Self portrait in a sketchbook

self portrait in a sketchbookFound in my sketch book, yet another figure drawing. This is part of a series of gesture drawings I will be posting over the next few days in a bid to make up for my lack of posts over the last couple of days. A gesture drawing is a quickly drawn sketch where the artist does not lift his pencil from the paper and does not correct the work after the fact. I really enjoy this type of sketch as it let’s me release the work quickly and keeps me from screwing up the piece by thinking to much. The work was created Fall semester, 1999 while attending UNO.
