I’m getting kind of regular here… I decided to have another go at the Flash drawn web comic that has no name. My wife actually helped write most of it and i think it turned out quite funny, but feel free to tell me what you think. Also, if you want to find out the latest everyday, now would be to time to try out an RSS feed reader. If you have Firefox, its part of the package and as you can see on the side of this side you can add me to your My yahoo and bloglines very easily. Feel free to make schleifstein.net part of your regular routine, trust me, its worth it. The work was created February 13, 2005. Click through to see a larger version of the work.

The work is an experiemental photoshop abstract that I found while sifting through the remains of my old laptop. I don’t really know what I was thinking when I created it, but the work seems to show a broken scene in black and white with shards of color strewn about the piece. The image centers on what appears to be a map of a lost isle that has a rocky shore and many snowy peaks. Feel free to comment on what you think the image shows. This drawing was created to give a representation of negative space and to show a still life minus an important piece. Piece is made interesting and confusing to the eye by removing the cup and giving the viewer a chance to see the coffee. Because this part is usually hidden, the scene becomes confusing and odd. This was drawn quickly and experimentally in a sketchbook while relaxing in a coffee shop late at night. The work was created Fall semester, 2001 while attending UNO. Returning to a serious tone, I’m posting a photo taken while wandering the park. My camera work seems to be dominated by park pictures, I know. My wife and I really like to walk in the park on the weekends to get our taste of nature for the week and this picture seems to show a prime example of that. I’m not going to give my little commentary on the merits of the design. I would really like you to give your own impressions of how the scene works and what could be improved in the piece. This photo was taken January 17, 2005. Click through to see a larger version of the work and thanks for your comments.

I thought I’d try my hand at the latest craze. I created my own web-comic. This took a surprising amount of time, but I think it turned out okay for a first try. Feel free to leave a comment on how you like it. By the by, the past few days included a short trip out of state to avoid the Mardi Gras morons and unfortunately I had no internet access til today. Also, I have re-enabled my comment moderation system, because while I was away I was flooded with over fifty comment spams. Almost forgot, why is this in the Flash category? I actually drew this comic in Flash by hand using a stylus. The work was created February 9, 2005. Click through to see a larger version of the work.

My second phone was a Samsung n400. Though it really sucked and the screen eventually broke in my pocket, I was able to do some cool things with it. The phone was one of the first that used the Sprint pcs vision service where you can connect to the internet on the phone and download stuff. After researching the topic I discovered you could create your own downloadable files for the phone. So i made this small photoshop project as a wall paper for the phone. I had to size it down to fit and create a small text file called a gcd file so the phone would know how to download the file. This work was created October 21, 2002. Today a two-fer. First we have a contour drawing done in one of my old sketchbooks as practice during my introduction to figure drawing class. I created the work by reading to many comic books late one night and then drawing a couple of conour images. Whay is she faceless? At the time I was not to confident in my facial drawing so i decided to go with the Viper(tm) of G. I. Joe(tm) look. The work was created Fall semester, 1999 while attending UNO.
