This drawing was created to give a representation of negative space and to show a still life minus an important piece. Piece is made interesting and confusing to the eye by removing the cup and giving the viewer a chance to see the coffee. Because this part is usually hidden, the scene becomes confusing and odd. This was drawn quickly and experimentally in a sketchbook while relaxing in a coffee shop late at night. The work was created Fall semester, 2001 while attending UNO.
